• Another of my favorite handy products

latex_glovesThe weeks and days leading up to Thanksgiving were a blur of house projects as we prepared to host dinner with my family. My children and wife joined me in the effort to clean, paint, finish the moulding project (started 4 years ago!), re-finish the front door, and several other stalled projects. The challenge I faced was getting cleanly and efficiently from painting to sanding to washing walls to painting, etc. There are inevitable messes to clean up but I had a way that sped the process up and took little toll on my hands. Let me introduce you to one of my favorite handy products!

I keep a box of gloves in my garage for changing the car oil, painting, staining, and anything that is a mess. Costco did not have a size big enough so I ordered them off Amazon and had them two days later. These handy items proved to be invaluable when I oversaw the children’s nursery at our church because they made diaper changes and clean-up so easy. Now if one breaks or I am switching projects I just grab another glove and never feel bad about throwing one away.

Last week I finished my last project and changed my clothes just in time for the first Thanksgiving guests to arrive. After I washed my hands I was ready for my last job before the meal, carving the roasted turkey. And anyone checking my nails and hands would notice, no paint, no spackle, and no scratches from vigorous post-project scrubbing!
