• Nature’s Little Surprises

In the course of my inspections there are little things I come across that cause me to smile and take notice. As an inspector there are plenty of the not-so-pleasant nature surprises but I want to share a few of the more wonder-full ones.

I often expect to find nesting wasps and yellow jackets under the propane tank lids. This time I found a sweet little frog just chilling.

There was a peanut hidden away in the soffit vent. It is amazing that a squirrel could access this area. He’s saving it for later!

These wild flowers (I was told) are “fire weed” because they are one of the first to return after forest wild fires. In this case they were the first flowers I’ve ever seen blossoming on a chimney!

Moss as thick as a plush carpet at the highest point on the property. It was pretty amazing to look down up on this chimney cap.

Grow little guy, grow! This baby fern is in the chimney flue and testament to the resilience of the flora of the Pacific Northwest. Green grows pretty much anywhere and everywhere!
