• Buried in your yard

plumb_septicsystemIn a recent inspection of newly constructed home I arrived just minutes before the bulldozer began to cover the septic drain field. It was very interesting for me to see (maybe not for many of you). Just in case you were curious to see what it looks like, check it out!

plumb_septicsystem (2)Most people living within city limits enjoy the use of sewers. The extent of their concern is knowing that waste water makes it out of the house via the sewer line and becomes the city’s concern. Those of us living with a septic system have a few more concerns. About every 2-3 years we call a septic removal company to come and pump our tank. Most tanks are about 1,000 gallons. plumb_septicsystem (1)What many do not realize is that the septic system uses an extensive drain field in which liquids dissipate. The toxic and awful stuff remains in the tank. The rest flows through drains pipes covering a large area of our yards. That is why drain fields usually look so green and luscious.

This will soon be a spacious backyard with newly planted grass.
